West Ham has appointed former Sunderland manager David Moyes on a two and a half year contract, with a break clause inserted at the end of this season.

Moyes comes in as a replacement for Slaven Bilic who was fired early this week after a dismal showing this season.

The Scottish manager who had had a long spell with Merseysiders Everton FC, took over from Sir Alex Ferguson at Manchester United in 2013, but was relieved of his duty in April 2014 before he was soon appointed to manage Real Sociedad in Spain.

Last season, Moyes managed Sunderland which saw the Black Cats relegated to EFL Championship.
