It’s that time of the year when most of our artistes who have been touring within the country and also those taking the afro sound to the international scene end the year on a climax with concerts and shows to appreciate their home fans for the love and support.

This year is no exception as our music superstars will be hitting us with back to back musical shows and concerts. The only problem most fans will be having is how to decide which of their favourite gigs to turn up for.

Not to worry, we have you covered. We have listed out the top seven concerts you wouldn’t want to miss this December. In no particular order, here are the top seven music events this season:

  1. SIMI (SEE ME LIVE)

simi's concert

Simi definitely has a lot to smile about this 2017 especially since the release of her sophomore album ‘Simisola’ which was ranked at number 5 on Billboard World Music and debuted at number 1 on both the Apple Music and iTunes chart, and also held its position for three weeks. The album, which currently stands at number 2, is still going strong. Lead single, ‘Joromi’ became an instant favourite, ringing through the airwaves of both local and international radio.

Simi is set to headline her first concert in Lagos at the Hard Rock Café on November 26. The Concert is titled ‘See Me Live’ and it is packaged by Eclipse Live Africa (Organizers of Gidi Fest).

The Concert promises to be specular as Simi stated in an Instagram post “The concert, which will be incredibly amazing (I promise), will see me and my band, The Banjos, bringing my album to life.”

We definitely can’t wait to see what Simi has in store for us. I guess we can say December came early for Simi!

5. ADEKUNLE GOLD (ONE NIGHT STAND WITH ADEKUNLE GOLD)

Adekunle Gold's concert

Adekunle Gold has been one of my favourites for this year, His three singles this year ‘Only Girl’, ‘Call on me’ featuring Moelogo and ‘Money’ seems to have just struck to the hearts of his alternative music lovers. Apart from been the Instagram king of dope pictures for the year, the visuals to his two singles this year shows that he is really standing strong and getting it right after his departure from YBNL.

Mr Gold is undoubtedly the current king of ‘romantic highlife’ as he beautifully fuses contemporary pop music with the highlife genre. His sophomore album, About 30, seems set to be even better than his exceptional debut and we honestly can’t wait!

Relishing from the success of his two major ‘one night stand’ concerts in Dublin and London, The Golden boy will be shutting down the prestigious Balmoral Hall, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos on the 26th of December.

Adekunle Gold will be bringing highly energetic performance with the support of his Band, the 79th element to delight his fans and we are sure to see some surprise features. Maybe Asa! Who knows?
