So summer’s here, and weekend is here and all you can think about is partying, chilling, hanging out, being free et cetera. Hardly does book come to anyone’s mind, because, well, what’s the fun in that? Firstly, I’ll correct that impression, books are fun. Secondly, there are immense benefits you can gain from reading. Reading books are known to give you a happiness boost and also give you a fulfilling experience. It was found that people who are known to be more satisfied with their lives do take up this habit on an everyday basis, as per a study.
Improves focus and concentration
Trying to read for about 15-20 minutes before work helps in increasing your span and attention for the entire day. You can do so while going to the office or during some other free time that you get.
It reduces stressing
Reading is known to be one of the biggest stress relievers when compared to listening to music, taking a walk or drinking.
It keeps your brain young
Reading a good book can literally take years off your mind. Adults who spent their downtime doing intellectual activities like reading had a 32 percent slower rate of cognitive decline.
You can still use books to expand your mental dictionary. This is particularly important for children, whose vocabulary are closely related to the books they read.
