Rapper and actor, Ice Cube, and American professional basketball player, Allen Iverson, both Hall of Famers in their respective games, are teaming up in Cube’s BIG3 league.

The BIG3 league debuts on FS1 on June 26.

Iverson once recorded a rap album back in 2000 at the height of his fame.

Iverson, under the rap name “Jewelz”, released a single called “40 Barz” which was never released due to its immediate catch fire reaction from then-NBA commissioner David Stern for the raw lyrics.

Stating that he has not turned his back to rap since then, Cube asked him:

“Why not?”

Replying with a laugh, Iverson said:

“Man, you know what I went through when I did that? The NBA is (too) mainstream… for real.”
