Efe of Big Brother naija 2017 has been appointed the Plateau State Ambassador for entertainment and creative industry.
Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Simon Bako Lalong congratulated the reality TV show winner on his new appointment, saying the his victory is further proof of the brotherhood, excellence, courage and determination that characterize the Plateau spirit.
It would be recalled that the Executive Governor had, on the 7th of April, called on all Plateau citizens to stand in solidarity with Efe by voting for him and mobilizing others to vote for the homegrown actor, who was on the verge of joining the team of successful Plateau citizens who have won the TV Reality event in the past.
The Executive Governor also used the opportunity to call on all citizens of Plateau State to ensure that the value they place on the common humanity of her citizens in a multicultural and cosmopolitan setting, is always seen in the unity of purpose exhibited by all in the collective pursuit of a common goal.
The Governor added that though Efe is by ethnic extraction from Delta State, Plateau is proud to lay claim to his entire life’s orientation having been groomed for excellence in life with the values that distinguish the Plateau person.
The Governor further confirmed that he will be receiving Efe as the newest Ambassador of the state in the Entertainment and Creative Industry on his arrival from South Africa soon.
The announcement, however, has received divided opinions, as many youths from the state are not happy with the appointment of Efe while many artistes who are indigenes of the state have not been so recognized.
They believe that though Efe was born in Jos and had a better part of his life there, he had since left the state and even when he was in the house, he never showed affiliations to the state and on coming back, he first went to his home state to rejoice with his people.
