The five-man shortlist for the Barclays Premier League Manager of the Month award for April has been announced.
Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe won the Manager of the month for March while Romelu Lukaku won the player of the month of March.
The nominees for the Manager of the month of April are….
-Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho, who led his side to three wins and four draws out of seven games.
-Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino, who won six from six as his Spurs side chased down Chelsea at the top of the Premier League to reduce gap to four points.
-Leicester manager Craig Shakespear, who took10 points out of a possible 18 in April, including an away win at West Brom, to steer the champions away from danger and up to the coveted 40-point mark.
-Hull City head coach Marco Silva,who took three wins and a draw in six games in April .
-Chelsea head coach Antonio Conte, won four and lost two of his six games in April to keep the Blues on top of the table going into the business end of the season.
For the Player of the Month,the nominees are Tottenham Hotspurs trio of Heung-Min Son, Christian Eriksen and Jan Vertonghen after Mauricio Pochettino’s side won every game last month as they put pressure on Chelsea at the top of the Premier League.
Chelsea’s Eden Hazard who scored four goals and provided one assist for Chelsea and Christian Benteke, who scored five goals for Crystal Palace were also included.
Others are Manchester United defender Eric Bailly, who picked up five clean sheets in April and Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero who notched five goals last month.
