Veteran comedian and actor, Okey Bakassi has opened up on his struggle with hard drugs consumption and abuse, warning others of its side effects.
Bakassi admitted that he used to take hard drugs when he was much younger, believing it used to boost his creativity.
He said: “I did some of it too. Creativity is part of it. It enhances creativity in the short term.”
The comedian lamented the rise in the consumption and abuse of recreational drugs at the moment during a chat on a TV show, advising them to quit.
“Conservatively 70% of Nigerian Celebrities are on some sort of substance today. They have gone ballistic. You hear a lot of names- SK, Kush, Loud, etc. the names come everyday and you’re struggling to keep up with the nomenclature of it.”
