About 600 girls are graduating with more than academic excellence, thanks to nongovernmental organization, Ornaments of Grace and Virtue (OGAV).
The NGO, which is saddled with the mission to develop independent, responsible, young girls through character building, mentorship, acquisition of knowledge, skills and ethics, sends her congratulations to its first set of graduates.
All students from Gbaja Girls Senior High School, the girls are all the better for their participation in OGAV’s scheme.
Founder of the NGO, Mrs Busola Kolade notes that Ornaments of Grace and Virtue was created as a result of the burden to nurture and mentor girls to become independent, responsible and valuable persons that affect society in a positive way.
Mrs Kolade believes that if children are trained in character, morals and etiquette from a young age, they will not be problems for the society at their older age.
See what some of the participants have said about the programme, whose graduation is taking place in the secondary school today:
“I have learnt how to behave in public and how to be confident as a lady” – Ibrahim Rahmat.
“I have learnt character virtues that will make one excellent and acceptable in the society” – Adoke Rebecca.
Meanwhile, OGAV is also preparing for its annual summer camp for teenage girls holding this month.
