The Super Eagles of Nigeria have moved up one place in the new FIFA ranking that was released today at the World football governing body headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.
Millions of football loving Nigerians were actually expecting the senior men’s team to drop after losing to Bafana Bafana of South Africa at home.
Surprisingly, they moved up from the previous 40th to 38th position. Nigeria tally on points with Greece and they are ranked in same position 38th, so no country is ranked 39th position.
Nigeria garnered 716 points, one better than previous points 715.
Meanwhile, Nigeria’s opponent in the upcoming world cup qualifier, Indomitable Lions of Cameroon also moved up one place to 35th position.
