NFF has extended coach Gernot Rohr’s contract by another two years after his impressive performance with the Super Eagles.
Rohr, who was appointed on an initial two-year contract in August 2016 following Sunday Oliseh’s tumultuous reign, masterminded Super Eagles qualification to the 2018 World Cup with one game to spare after comfortably overcoming a ‘Group of Death’ that included Cameroon, Algeria and Zambia.
The decision comes after the board passed a major vote of confidence in the coach following his performances and drive to use young players in the team.
This is the first time that a Super Eagles coach will have his contract renewed in the month before a World Cup.
