Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita is being accused by the German Authorities of submitting a fake driver’s license and could face a heavy fine.

According to the German prosecutors,Keita had on two occasions tried to use counterfeit Guinean driving licenses to obtain one in Germany.

Leipzig released a statement in support of their player stating that they were aware of the matter.

“We know about this. After detailed discussions we’re not assuming this is a forgery matter. Naby’s lawyer is involved and is waiting for access to the records.”

Keita will be joining English premier league side Liverpool in the January transfer window after agreeing personal terms intended summer.
