Fast rising artiste, Mr Eazi has released the remix of one of his smash hit singles ‘Leg Over’ off his ‘Life is Eazi: Accra to Lagos’ tape.

For the remix, he teams up with American acts, French Montana, Major Lazer, TY Dolla Sign and Torey Lanez. It was produced by Diplo of Major Lazer.

The artist, who incurred the wrath of Nigerian music fanatics and was on the receiving end of criticisms for saying he introduced the Ghana fusion sound to the Nigerian music industry, with this, has unarguably so far done his biggest collaboration since he broke into the limelight merely two years ago.

Elated Mr Eazi had announced to his fans last month about the collaboration, during a show, saying “Shout out to Diplo, the remix for this record is dropping this month, any time from now, Shout out to Torey Lanez for his verse on this one, shout out to French Montana for his verse on this one. Shout out to Ty Dolla Sign for his verse on this one.”

He continued, announcing that he might be doing an album soon with Diplo of Major Lazer “shout out to Diplo and the production for this one. Leg Over worldwide remix is gonna be madness. That’s the one with him, another one with Diplo/Major Lazer. I’ll get to the studio and we’ll knock out another 12 records, probably do an album. ‘Mr Eazi and Diplo.’ Mr Eazi and ‘Major Lazer.”

As at July of 2017, the “Banku” crooner’s “Leg Over” track had raked about 15.6 million streams on YouTube.

However, Mr Eazi, since breaking into the music scene, has received lots of accolades, including being the first African musician to be named Apple Music’s ‘Up Next Artist’ in July and indeed the fourth artist to attain that recognition since it kick started in April, 2017.

The first three artists that got the recognition before him were 6lack (aka Ricardo Valdez), a 24-year-old rapper and singer from Atlanta, followed by Norwegian singer-songwriter, Sigrid, in May and rising R&B star, Khalid, in June.

Additionally, the artist has had shout-outs by prominent artists, including Rita Ora and Travis Scott. He has also had writing sessions with English drum and bass band; Rudimental, and English singer and songwriter, Ellie Goulding.

Mr. Eazi who is signed to Wizkid’s Starboy Records has repeatedly credited what influenced his style of music to his move to Kumasi, Ghana from Nigeria at an early age and experimenting with genres of music, mixing Azonto and Ragga music, to coining Banku music after releasing ‘Bankulize.’

The artist who is currently dating Temi Otedola, one of the daughters of oil mogul, Femi Otedola, attended University in Kumasi, Ghana and this without doubt had a major influence on the evolution of his Banku sound, which fuses elements of music from both Nigeria and Ghana.
