Messi hit four goals for Barcelona as they thrashed Eibar 6-1 in a mid-week La liga match last night.

Eibar clawed one back through Sergi Enrich a few minutes later against the run of play, with the score at 3-0 to make it 3-1.

However, Messi restored the three-goal lead, beating three men at the top of the penalty area to score in Eibar’s net past Dmitrovic.

Messi completed his hat trick just past the hour mark and added the fourth towards the end of full-time.

Paulinho and Denis Suarez were the other scorers.

In the other match played yesterday, Simon Zaza scored a hattrick as Valencia thrashed Malaga 5-0.
