The red dress saga seems not to be ending anytime soon as Mercy Aigbe has now issued a treat to sue both the bride and the designer, Rikaotobyme for defamation of character.
This follows the letter that was made public on Tuesday by the bride’s lawyers, Capitalfield Attorneys threatening to sue both Rikaotobyme and Mercy Aigbe in court for conspiracy.
Mercy Aigbe’s lawyers, Nwokeji Ibeakokwu & Co. stated that the accusation that there was a “deliberate and fraudulent conspiracy” between Rikaotobyme and Mercy Aigbe by the bride’s lawyers is a “malicious allegation.”
The letter noted that Mercy Aigbe “did not at any time meet with the designer nor had dealings with her”, as she had contracted a stylist, StyledBySeun to style her for her birthday shoot, therefore what is being propelled in the media is damaging to the actress’ image.
The letter claimed that the bride’s lawyers did not get their facts right before publishing the said allegation that has now gone viral.
As a result of this, Aigbe’s lawyers have demanded that a public apology be tendered online by the bride same way the initial letter was, absolving their client of any wrong in the brewing saga.
The lawyers said if the apology is not done within 7 days, both the bride and the designer will be taken to court to face the law for defamation of character.
