Manchester City and Manchester United have united to donate 1m euro to the ‘We love Manchester Emergency Fund’ for the families of the victims of the terror attack at the Manchester Arena.
As at Wednesday, the funds raised had reached up to 2m euros with the two clubs’ input adding it up to 3m euros.
According to Man City Chairman, Khaldoon Al Mubarak, “We have been humbled by the strength and solidarity shown by the people of Manchester in the days since the attack. It is the hope of both clubs that our donation will go some way to alleviate the daunting challenges faced by those directly affected.”
On his part, the Chairman of Manchester United, Ed Woodward said, “The barbarism of Monday’s attack has shocked everyone. Our clubs are right at the heart of our local communities in Manchester and it is right that we present a unified response to this tragedy.”
The fund initiative is designed to assist families of both families of the 22 dead and the 64 injured.
