Game Of Thrones fans who cannot wait till next year to watch Kit Harrington (Jon Snow) on screen, now have the opportunity to see him.
The actor is starring in a new drama ‘Gunpowder‘ which gives a fresh take on the 1605 plot to blow up the British Parliament.
He plays Robert Catesby, the leader of a group of provincial English Catholics who planned the failed Gunpowder Plot of 1605.
The drama was written by Ronan Bennett but was actually the brainchild of Kit and his friend and business partner Daniel West.
Speaking about the drama, Kit said: “Many people know he was working with plotters, but don’t know much more about who they were or their motives. And so little is known about the lead up to the night of November 5, or what happened after it. In Gunpowder, we show the whole story; it’s a fascinating, dark and twisted piece of British history.:
The drama features an all-star cast, with Peter Mullan (Top Of The Lake) taking on the role of Father Henry Garnet, Mark Gatiss (Sherlock) as the Spymaster Robert Cecil and Tom Cullen (Downton Abbey) as Guy Fawkes.
