Five Star Music star, Kcee has said his plans to contest in the upcoming Anambra governorship election slated for November is not a joke.
The ‘Limpopo’ crooner, who made his intentions to run for the office known last week with a campaign poster, said he believes the mantle of change is in the hands of the youths and they need to speak up, which is what he is doing.
He is however, not the only celebrity to have declared his ambition for a political office following the passage of ‘Not too young to rule’ bill by the Senate.
Others are Vic O, Samklef, who plans to run for both the Governor’s office and Deputy Governor’s office and BasketMouth, whose intention is to run for 6 states at the same time etc.
This has left fans wondering if the celebrities are just having fun and looking to garner some media attention.
Recall that, Kcee also unveiled the artwork of his coming album cover last week with the same title as his political slogan “Attention to Detail”, telling fans to buy the album as proceeds from the album sale would be used for his political race.
However, Kcee has insisted he’s keen on running for the office and there’s no stopping him.
Speaking recently, he said “My campaign manager said I should not speak much about it and that’s what I’m going to stand on. I’m going to be making official statement about it but trust me it’s not a joke.
“I think the youth has to speak up and that’s what I’m saying right now. And I think you have what it takes to do it and I have what it takes so if you believe in yourself, make it rain.”
