Germany’s Alexander Zverev shocked the tennis world as he beat Roger Federer to win his fifth title this year at Montreal thus becoming just the third man to beat Roger Federer this year.

The eight-seeded player won 6-3 6-4 at the Rogers Cup final to claim his second Masters 1000 title and extend his winning run to 10 matches.

The Swiss 36-year old can still clinch the no.1 spot on 21 August if he wins the Cincinnati Masters though it is yet to be clear if he would participate in the tournament.
