Zinedine Zidane, Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte headlined the list of coaches shortlisted for The Best FIFA Men’s Coach award for 2017.

Real Madrid won La Liga, the Champions League and the Club World Cup under Zidane last season, while Mourinho claimed three trophies in his first term with Manchester United and Conte steered Chelsea to the Premier League title.

Other coaches nominated for the awards are Pep Guardiola of Manchester City,Massimiliano Allegri of Juventus and Leonardo Jardim of Monaco

In the Men’s Player award category, holder Cristiano Ronaldo, Barca star Lionel Messi and new Paris Saint-Germain signing Neymar led the list that also included Paulo Dybala and Gianluigi Buffon both of Juventus and Andres Iniesta. The only African on the list was Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

For the Women’s Coach of the year award,there was a surprise inclusion in the list all the way from Nigeria,Florence Omagbemi. The former Super Falcons coach was shortlisted for the 2017 Women football coach of the year alongside Gerard Precheur of Olympic Lyonnais Ladies and Hwang Yong-Bong of Korea DPR.

Omagbemi who was selected on interim basis in 2016, led Nigeria Super Falcons to lift the African Women Championship held in Cameroon in December 2016.
