Arsenal has announced plans to add around 780 Club Level seats to the Emirates Stadium which will see the overall capacity returned above 60,000.
As announced yesterday, work will begin in May and is due to be completed in two summers, finishing in 2019.
Capacity has been reduced to below the 60,000 mark in recent seasons due to safety requirements and improvements to facilities for disabled supporters.
According to Arsenal’s chief Commercial Officer Vinai Venkatesham: “As we continue to face high demand for tickets in all areas of the Emirates Stadium, this is a significant investment to ensure that as many supporters as possible are able to watch the team play.”
Some seats at the Emirates stadium have remained empty ever since some factions of fans decided to seat out last season in protest against Arsene Wenger.
