Arsenal fell to a devastating defeat to ‘in-form’ Crystal Palace 3-nil.
This puts further pressure on hapless Arsene Wenger and the team’s chances of qualifying for the UEFA Champions League.
Arsenal is presently 6th with 54 points. A position that is outside the UCL places. If this happens, it will be their first season outside the Champions League in 21 seasons.
For Crystal Palace, the victory is yet another push for Sam Allardyce’s team to survive relegation. They are 16th on the log with 34 points.
Palace led through Andros Townsend’s close-range finish in the 17th minute, followed by Yohan Cabaye’s shot and Luka Milivojevic completed Arsenal’s thrashing with a penalty after Martinez was penalised for bringing down Townsend in the box.
At some point in the match, Gunners’ fans demanded Wenger leave the club. But would he? We have to wait until the end of the season.
