We can barely do without technology in this 21st century. It has made our lives very easy and of course, we are choiceless because we always need tech. Meanwhile, certain companies have taken it upon themselves to make these technologies available. They are spending billions, and are also raking in billions from the consumers of these technologies. Hence, these companies are literally controlling our lives. We unveil some these companies:

Google

Google is now used as an adjective if you want to search anything.  You are told to Google it! Google is now synonymous with search. In fact, Google is so influential that it controls the ranking of websites that many companies have to pay the tech giant to advertise in order to rank high whenever any keywords related to them are searched. Also, businesses have taken Search Engine Optimization very serious. Other areas Google is controlling our lives includes-Android Operating system, Self-Driving Cars, Gmail and YouTube among others. How much is Google worth? It is now worth $101.8 billion and Alphabet, Google’s parent company is worth $862.76 billion.

Facebook

Mark Zuckerberg owns the social media sphere. His tight domination sees him in charge of WhatsApp and Instagram. WhatsApp has 1.2 billion monthly users and Instagram has 700 million users. The ‘daddy’ of them all Facebook has 1.9 billion monthly users. This is just wow! Clearly, many of us cannot be without social media. If you are not on Facebook, you must be on Instagram and if are not on the both, WhatsApp is a must. It is worth $435 billion.

Apple Inc

iPhone, iPad, MacBook, Apple Watch, Apple Cars and much more are among the innovative products from Apple Inc. It is one of the most valuable companies in the world. And they are very popular for not joking with the quality of their products. Also, they keep innovating to catch up with the new trends in the technology industry. Apple is currently worth $750 billion dollars. It is led by Tim Cook.

Microsoft

For every computer you use, you have no choice than to use the Windows Operating System. In addition to this, for you to type or make a presentation, you are likely to use the Microsoft Word or Excel. All these products are developed by Microsoft. Interestingly, there are other Computer Operating Systems that have tried to battle Microsoft but have failed. A good example is Ubuntu which has only a small market share. Microsoft is worth $500 dollars.

Amazon

Amazon is one of the global e-commerce companies in the world. It was founded by Jeff Bezos in 1994. Whatever you want, you will find it on Amazon as far as it is legal. Beyond e-commerce, Amazon has also diversified into developing Alexa (an intelligent personal assistant), and it recently bought Whole Foods for $13.7 billion. The company is worth two of Walmart at $459 billion.
