When stretched for time, the very thought of re-doing your makeup is enough to make you groan, grumble and grimace, especially when you don’t have the time (or patience) to wipe it off and begin again. Luckily, there are tricks and hacks to help you get over the seemingly tedious process that we think we need in order to look and feel cute again!
Whether you’re going for sultry eyes or a bold lip, having these key products in your bag is a guaranteed way to take your makeup from day to night in a few quick and easy steps.
The first step in going from day to night, is creating a smooth and even base. If you already have some foundation on, it is important that you don’t simply layer more on as that could make it look cakey. Instead, simply use some blotting powder to blot out the excess oil and lightly spot conceal with your favorite concealer. Then, lightly brush on some face powder around your t-zone and finish off with a spritz of setting spray to hydrate your face.
Having a good eyeshadow quad is an essential tool in your makeup bag. Simply dabbing on a new shadow on your eyelid is an easy way to revamp your look. For a more dramatic eye look, lightly use your finger and gently place it on your eyelid. Next, grab a black khol eyeliner and line your top lash line and water line. Finish up by lightly smudging your lower lash line with the black liner for a sultry, smokey look.
To blush or not to blush is usually the question and we have the answer for you. Blush can be quite intimidating to use because there is a fine line (literally) between looking crazy and getting the x-factor look. There are generally two rules with blush- 1) keep it simple 2) keep it light. So whatever you decide, application is important. Having a nice blush on standby is useful for the days when you have both a light eye and lip, as it perfectly ties the two together. To achieve a “wash off color” on your cheeks, gently swish your brush in the blush and tap off the excess. Next, lightly dust onto the apples of your cheeks
If eyeshadow isn’t really your thing, then a bold lip is a dramatic alternative option. First, wipe your lips to get rid of any previous lip residue and apply some non-waxy lip balm. Next, use your favorite lip liner to line and fill in your lips. After this is done, apply a matte lipstick to your lips to achieve a nice full look.
